Long time, no talk

Well, it has been a while since I last posted a blog, but I am sure not many of you even realized. I know some of you thought I might have become the latest shark victim, but I have just been busy with everything.

It started out with me hooking (failing, choking, unsating) a checkride. I couldn't do very many things right and he helped me find all of them. Then after the kicks to the growing stopped, I found a way to bring my confidence back up with a few sims. After that, I went on my cross country flights. I found an instructor that wanted to go to Idaho, so I got to go home for parts of two days and one whole day. It was awesome going home and I got to go wakeboarding.

I also tried to grow out my hair...but that didn't work out so well.
Actually, this was the feeble attempt. Not a lot of difference, huh?
The trip back home was good. We flew to Albuquerque, then to Twin Falls. The IP that I flew with had family there and that was the closest I could get to Boise...which, I don't know if you have checked a map lately, but it is closer than Corpus Christi. The flights were good and I learned a lot.

The best part was getting to see my family. We went up to Redfish where part of my family was camping and I got to do some wakeboarding. Thanks to my mom for being my chauffeur. A star of my caliber usually gets this type of treatment, but I don't want to seem ungrateful for any of it.

I had a great time and I even got paid for that...you all actually paid for that one. Other than that, not a lot new going on around these neck of the woods...er...bushes (no trees in south Texas).

Candi made the trip back to hot, humid Texas and I am forever grateful. It is very nice to have her back. She is doing well and working a lot more than she had been use to...finally she is starting to contribute to this marriage. JUST KIDDING
Our dog has something wrong with her pancreas. She wouldn't eat and didn't move much for a week or so. She is getting some meds now and is doing better, but at least she lost some weight. Maybe I should see if it is contagious.
I am into the review stage flights, which are the hardest most comprehensive flights of the program. They are four flights where they throw the kitchen sink at you, followed by a checkride, which is followed by a solo flight anywhere we can get on four hours of gas. I am technically three graded flights away from being done with the program. There are a lot more flights for us Air Force type, but they are only pass/fail and they don't go towards are average of what aircraft we get assigned (although I have a pretty good idea on my aircraft and location). Getting closer to graduation every day. SEPTEMBER 28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry this wasn't more amusing, but I was feeling guilty that I had not posted in a while and all one of you wouldn't be getting anything done on account that you probably ran to your computer hourly, just to check for an update...here you go!

Cross country flights must be nice, huh! In whirlybirds, I don't think we'll do any such flights. I seriously doubt I'd make it to Idaho, either. Bummer. Congrats on getting close - that must be a great feeling! Do you wear helmets when you fly? The Army has some weird notion that helmets are protective gear or something like that - it's kinda' inconvenient sometimes!
